ADDITIONAL INFO from letter Dated January 18, 2007
The Grand Lodge of The Royal Order of Scotland has also reprinted the two (2) hard bound volumes (Robert Strathern Lindsay's History of the Order and George Draffen of Newington's The Second Hundred Years) in one hard bound volume. The price of this book is Twenty-eight Dollars ($28.00) per volume and can be purchased by sending a check to this office made payable to The Royal Order of Scotland with a notation on the check concerning this book, together with your current mailing address. We in turn will accumulate these orders, will provide the Grand Secretary's Office with a listing together with a pound sterling bank draft and the books will be mailed to each member directly from Scotland. If you have any questions, please contact this office.
Please be advised that Annual Dues in this Provincial Grand Lodge are payable in advance prior to September 1st. All members have received their dues cards and notices for the current year (2006-2007) in mid August, 2006; however, some members have not to date remitted their dues for either the year 2005-2006 for Thirty-five Dollars ($35.00) or for the year 2006-2007 for Thirty-five Dollars ($35.00) or both. Please be advised it is our policy that if the Annual Dues for this Two (2) year period is not paid on or before August 31, 2007 those members will be suspended for non-payment of dues. If your dues are in arrears and for some reason you no longer wish to be a regular member, we strongly recommend you remit your dues in full and request a "demit" in writing. By following this procedure, if you wish at some later date to return to regular membership, you will only be required to remit your dues for the current year in which you are restored. If you request to be placed in "demit status" you will not receive any further mailings. If you are suspended for non-payment of dues and wish to return to regular membership, you will be required to remit the total dues for the years in which you were suspended. We are asking that you review your individual dues record. If you have not to date paid your Annual Dues, you should promptly remit same. Bear in mind the dues revenue is used for our current operating expenses, including the Annual Dues and Fees payable to the Grand Lodge. Also, the reminders that are mailed regarding late payment of dues incur additional postage expense, because we are not able to use our bulk mailing permit. If you have specific questions regarding the status of your Annual Dues, please contact this office.
It is very important that you promptly notify the office when there is a change in your mailing address. Those members whose mail is returned and marked "temporary away" or "address unknown" will be removed from the mailing list until we receive a permanent mailing address. In addition, if you know a member who has passed away, please notify the office so we can correct our mailing list accordingly. Please bear in mind all of the above also incur additional postage costs.
