Sovereign Master's Message
Companions:
I apologize for the lateness of this message. I am somewhat occupied with my year as Master in Blue Lodge, and my upcoming attendance of the MLI this weekend. We will be covering membership both new and retention of existing members. The more I look at the state of our Fraternity, the more I wonder about our current direction. I am wondering if you should be so concerned with raw numbers. Perhaps, we should be looking at the "traditional observance Lodge" structure.
At our last meeting, I was prepared to present a paper covering the various chivalric orders. The paper was aimed at a general audience. Once I looked around the room, I realized that it would not be appropriate given the level of expertise of the attending Brethren. As a result, we went of on various tangents covering a variety of topics.
We will have the pleasure of hearing Bro. Richard Van Doren present a paper at this meeting. He will be presenting a paper covering Masonry in Germany during World War II. I am looking forward to hearing it. See you in Lexington.
