FOR THE OFFICE OF GENERAL GRAND RECORDER
OF THE GENERAL GRAND COUNCIL OF CRYPTIC MASONS, INTERNATIONAL
I have been the Grand Recorder/Treasurer of the Grand Council of Cryptic Masons of Idaho since 2002, and I have made changes to bring the Grand Council into the 21st Century. I have instituted electronic reports and annual returns. I am working on a database of all of the members of the Grand Council. We have modernized the office equipment and made it usable anywhere.
My philosophy in accomplishing this job would be to act like the hub of a wheel, receiving and delivering information in a timely manner so that the leaders of the General Grand Council can make educated decisions. This information comes in many different forms, i.e. emails, letters, brochures, pamphlets, and includes ideas, reports, and suggestions for change or accomplishment of duties. This information is sent on, in a timely manner. It is the duty of a recorder to be responsive in obtaining information and disseminating it to those that need the information. I feel that it is imperative the information be kept flowing as quickly as possible. The use of electronic means assists in accomplishing this. Another important duty of the Recorder, which I currently perform, is to act as a calendar to keep the body leaders informed of the suspenses and delinquencies of required reports, recognitions of merit, certificates of appreciation, without prompting.
I also believe that if the Recorder and Treasurer are separate offices they should perform their assigned duties and not go beyond those duties. The Recorder should receive the funds from the Companions and pay out the same to the Treasurer. The Treasurer should measure and weigh out the shekels to the workmen. This is a method of checks and balances that is used throughout the Fraternity.
Thank you for your time and I would very much appreciate your vote in Indianapolis for this important office.
Fraternally,
David A. Grindle
