EMORY J. FERGUSON, GENERAL GRAND SCRIBE
Companions, how would you like to help the General Grand Chapter and at the same time help your own Grand Chapter? A resolution was passed at the triennial in Atlantic City, New Jersey to allow individuals to purchase Perpetual Life Membership in the General Grand Chapter. On purchasing Perpetual Life Membership the individual thus alleviates his Grand Chapter from paying dues on him to the General Grand Chapter for life. This resolution also allows individuals from Grand Chapters that are not members of the General Grand Chapter to hold membership in the General Grand Chapter.
The resolution as passed is as follows: Perpetual Life Membership in the General Grand Chapter may be had for the sum of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) by any Royal Arch Mason in good and regular standing of his Blue Lodge and Royal Arch Chapter provided that the jurisdiction in which he holds membership is recognized by the General Grand Chapter. Perpetual Life Membership does not entitle the holder to a vote in the General Grand Chapter. Monies collected for the Perpetual Life Membership program shall be put in a special savings fund with only the accrued interest withdrawn for the General Grand Chapter General Fund.
Any Grand Chapter, a member of the General Grand Chapter, shall not be required to pay dues on any of its members who hold Perpetual Life Membership.
A member Chapter of the General Grand Chapter which has 100% participation of its members in the Perpetual Life Membership program shall be entitled to a General Grand High Priest Plaque of Appreciation. Likewise, any member Grand Chapter of the General Grand Chapter which has 100% participation of its members in the Perpetual Life Membership program shall be entitled to a General Grand High Priest Plaque of Appreciation. Any Grand High Priest of a Grand Royal Arch Chapter not a member of the General Grand Chapter but is a Perpetual Life Member of the General Grand Chapter, upon the completion of his term of office, shall be entitled to a Past Grand High Priest Plaque and lapel pin and he shall be made a Permanent Member of the General Grand Chapter with all the privileges thereof.
If you are interested in purchasing Perpetual Life Membership you can do this through your Grand Secretary or mail directly to the General Grand Secretary, Right Excellent Companion John F Kirby, P0. Box 489, Louisville, KY 40423, and he will notify your Grand Secretary.
