Improve Masonic rituals and mechanic execution to perfection.                                  FROM THE EAST Brethren and all,           Holidays are again upon us, and the spirit of Christmas is just a few days away so let us get ready to embrace it willfully and joyfully. Let us rejoice, let us enjoy what we have and what we can offer. Let us give a hearty thanks for what we get and season with love what we give.           Let us not forget that also this time of each year, a new leader, a Worshipful Master is being installed to rule and govern a just and legally constituted Master Masons lodge. I, your humble brother, being installed as your Worshipful Master am looking forward to serve you, the lodge and masonry in general to the best of my ability and to fulfill my duties, obligations and responsibilities willingly and sincerely.           My journey in masonry has just started. It is a long winding road for me to travel, great challenges for me to overcome, doubts, letdowns, misfortunes to ignore , with all your unselfish supports, I would have no doubts that I would accomplish my job as proudly as I could.            Also, I would like to thank everyone who in one way or the other given me their trusts and confidence during my early days in this great fraternity, especially on my initial steps on the way to the east. Without your supports, blessings and guidance, you know who you are, am sure I would not reach the east, but because of your confidence in me I will be sitting in the hot seat.            I also thank my officers for the job well done during my time in the west and to those brethren who were members of the degree team thru the year. They really made my job easier and I am really proud of them and hope they will continue to do the same.            I am calling all those brethren who have not been to the lodge stated meeting for a while (longtime) to come and join me every first Sat of each month. His leadership, patience and understanding have been an inspiration to all the brethren. I am honored to have the opportunity to be sitting in the west. FROM THE SECRETARY THE TEMPLE HAS RAISED THE ASSESSMENT TO $55.00; YOUR DUES WILL INCREASE BY $5.00, TO $171.00. The raise in the Temple assessment was necessary to balance the budget and is in accordance with the Temple By-laws. As you all know the cost of Gas & Electricity has been increasing and our membership is decreasing, the building is getting older and needs repairs. The board is working diligently to keep the cost down as much as we can. There is a need to increase the Endowment fund so that the interest from it will help keep the cost down. There are several ways that a person can contribute to the Endowment fund that will give a tax break, remember that it is a tax free contribution, those interested please contact me. Starting in 2010 the Temple will no longer assess the lodges for their 50 year members. Brethren as usual I encourage everyone to purchase a LIFE MEMBERSHIP in Perpetuity. This may be done in installments, which can be tailored to your financial condition. Grand Lodge will now take payment by credit card, contact me if you are interested. A REMINDER, as you know the Lodge voted to buy into the Granby Street Temple. Every member except the LMIPs (who got their LIMP before Dec 2002), Fifty Year members, and honorary members, will be assessed $40.00 a year for fifteen (15) years.  After 1 January 2003 the assessment was not a new charge. The Methodical Digest states that anyone with a LMIP can't be assessed for new charges. If anyone has a question about this please contact one of the officers or me. New members only pay until 2018. Brethren please do not confuse this with assessment to operate the Temple LMIPS WILL BE $2096.00 PLUS THE CURRENT YEARS DUES FOR A TOTAL OF $2227.00. PLEASE CHECK YOUR DUES CARDS; WE NEED THE DUES TO PAY OUR BILLS, WE SUSPENDED FOUR BROTHERS FOR NON-PAYMENT OF DUES. WE STILL HAVE EIGHT (8) BROTHERS WHO OWE FOR 2009.
